Building on our first 10 years of awesomeness, Mark Wood Rock Orchestra Camp and Music Festival (MWROC) is offering a HOME EDITION this summer.
Our interactive online classes will have you creating your own music, collaborating with others, learning about the latest technology, and much more.
We’re even expanding to TWO WEEKS of sessions with flexible schedules for all of our courses (aka you will NOT be spending 8 hours a day in front of your computer), in order to give our attendees time to experience the most intensive musical and creative adventures with the best Artist Mentors in our industry. From classes in improvisation, composing, arranging, singing, movement, acting, and so much more, MWROC will catapult your skills to the next level and beyond.
For our virtual orchestra final concert, you’ll film yourself playing your part and we’ll edit everything together for a pro-level virtual rock orchestra and choir video that we’ll share with the WORLD!
BE BOLD. BE BRAVE. BE YOU.
- In-depth workshops for string players, vocalists, guitarists, and electric bass players.
We’re offering NEW interactive, collaborative class ideas for you, specifically tailored for our home edition; and you’ll have the opportunity to take some stellar master classes with our special guests. - Tons of new material that YOU will create and/or collaborate on.
- Final Concert.
Throughout the 2 weeks, we will work with each attendee to coach you on submitting videos for each of the songs in our final concert (approx. 3-5 songs).
Your individual videos will then be edited together to create a virtual symphony orchestra masterpiece, that will have its world premiere approximately 2 months after MWROC is over. - Movement classes to energize your day AND make you a better performer.
- Faculty concerts every evening – some will be pre-recorded, some will be live, some will be a combination; ALL will be exclusive to MWROC.
- Online social gatherings will include game nights and other activities.
- Cafe Rock and Wreck, an optional talent show that takes place every night after our faculty concerts, where you can share a video of you showcasing your talents to our attendees, who will be your virtual audience, watching and cheering you on.
- Have lunch with the faculty member of your choice. Each day, limited spots will become available so we can create Zoom breakout rooms. You’ll be able to sign up in advance.
“I am so excited to take you all on a journey to explore the world of technology! Over the years, I have been consistently impressed and inspired by the level of passion and commitment that everyone brings to MWROC and this year will take us to another realm of creativity! It has been a vision of mine for many years to provide a place for innovation, inclusiveness, experimentation, freedom of expression, and exploring roads less traveled. It is incredibly exciting for me to watch my visions take root and grow to such amazing heights… thank you for being part of it!”
